Testing
TKA requires standardized testing for all students, Day School and Homeschool, each year.
Below are details about TKA testing:
Dates for testing will be announced at the start of each Academic Year in August via email.
Standardized testing will be administered to 1st-8th grade homeschool students at The King’s Academy each Spring using Iowa Assessment, in order to equip parents with data that will help with schooling decisions for the following year.
Pre-ACT and ACT or SAT are required in high school.
The Pre-ACT for 9th & 10th will be held in October.
It is required that ACT or SAT be taken by all 12th grade students.
It is highly recommended that the ACT test be taken the first time in 11th grade.
The TKA school code you will need for online registration for ACT is: 432105
ACT tests are offered monthly at several local testing locations (typically schools), and parents may schedule them directly online at www.act.org.
SAT has options for homeschoolers and can be taken online. There are multiple administrators of this test that can be found online.
TESTING FAQ
Can my student test earlier than the announced date?
No, due to limited classroom space, TKA is not able to accommodate any homeschool students testing with day students.
What if my student cannot make the announced testing date?
The only acceptable reasons for missing a testing day is sickness, unforeseen circumstances, and death in the family. If any of these situations come up during testing dates please contact the Homeschool Coordinator immediately.
If students miss testing for any other reason, they will not be allowed to make up the tests that they missed, and this will be brought to review should that student wish to re-enroll in our umbrella the following year.
